Phil Beer is well-known in acoustic circles as part of the duo Show of Hands, and has achieved legendary worldwide status with his exceptional guitar and fiddle playing.  His instrumental wizardry is well documented and he has worked over the years with countless artists, most notably The Rolling Stones and Steve Harley.  For many years, he performed with the Albion Band and co-wrote plenty of their songs. Juan Martin’s Musica Alhambra

A celebrated virtuoso of the flamenco guitar who has been voted one of the top three guitarists in the world by US magazine Guitar Player, Juan Martín learned his art in the land of its origin, Andalucia in southern Spain.  Flamenco is immediately associated with Spain but it took many influences from places much further away to form the music that emerged in Andalucia some 200 years ago.  In keeping with this cosmopolitan spirit, Martin brings to the final night of the Eastbourne Festival, musicians and performers not only from his native Spain but from India, Greece, Ireland and the Lebanon, for his celebrated Musica Alhambra show.

Jacqui Dankworth

The daughter of Cleo Laine and John Dankworth doesn’t confine herself to singing jazz.  She is gracefully at ease in folk music, as well as being an imaginative interpreter of the blues.  She is, without doubt, one of our finest singers regardless of category, and has probably the most flexible and expressive voice of her generation.  Recent recordings have been made with Elvis Costello, Sting and Paul McCartney, and she has recently shared the stage with Courtney Pine at the Royal Festival Hall.  Jacqui comes to the Eastbourne Festival with a full song book, some of her own songs, some standards, and some you’ll have heard before, by Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor and Paul Simon.
